Sitting in his chair in the front garden of his home in Castle Street and
enjoying the heat from the sun is John Stewart in the late 1920's early 1930's.

Here we are in the Salvation Army Hall which was in Union Street back in 1947,
it must have been near Christmas by the hanging decorations.

THE OLD PORK STORE 4335
This is the Old Pork Store on Townhead Street around 1900. The company was
established in 1858 and it was owned by Stevenson & Co Ltd.
In the photograph you can see the slaughtered pigs on the left and then the
men cutting them up and put into the wheelbarrows for processing later - Ballymoney
was well known
for its high quality pork. During the 1930s up to 800 pigs a week were cured
and made lovely Pork Pies. No Health and Safety back then! The only person
known in the
photograph is William Dunlop on the left.
On the back wall is a poster saying Tarriff Buget This is about the Tariff
Reform League (TRL) it was a protectionist British pressure group formed in
1903
to protest against what they considered to be unfair foreign imports.
SUNDAY SCHOOL 4334
Appartently this is a Sunday Outing with parents, Sunday school teachers and
children, now where it was and the year is unknown.
In amongst the children we have a Miss Anderson and her two brothers Ross
and David. Also there is a Danny, Willie and sister. In the 2nd Row on the
right the girl who has a bandage on her right knee.
