POLICE STATION _4341
Here we are outside the Police Station in Dervock, it is a full turnout for this photograph to be taken. Now these officers were not R.U.C. police but R.I.C. this was back when it was an All Ireland untill 1922.
Its around the turn of the century, we have here a Sergeant with the stripes at the cuff (RIC style), along with three constables which was a full turnout of the station, you can see the RIC badge on the wall.
Beside the Sergeant on his left is his wife with a baby on her knee, to her left is a little girl sitting on the windowsill and standing up on the windowsill is either a little girl or boy! Back then boys could be dressed like girls and have long hair until thery were 4 or 5 years old !!
After the police moved out McCanns moved into this house and they lived there for many years.
PALLADIUM PROGRAMME _4342
This Palladium programme and is dated February 1942, 6 months before I was born.
Gary Craig says:
I had an old relative who loved the "cowboys" at the Palladium, but I do'nt know if the audience loved him,,,as he often got carried away shouting at the screen during shootouts...."Hes over there the boy ye" and "Watch out he`s behind that big rock"....I`m sure the place was either in fits of laughter at him or wanting to throw him out.
PALLADIUM PROGRAMME _4344
This Palladium programme is dated December 1966 I was now aged 24, I wish I was that age now. (83)
