Here in the back garden of the Fleming family in Oriel Terrace which was in Riverside in 1959.
On the left is Doris Fleming then her mother Elizabeth Fleming and also her dad Samuel Fleming.
In front we have Linda Jones and Violet Murdoch.
Now behind them next to the back door is the good old dustbin. Back then you just threw everything into it and then the binman would come and pick it up from where it was, throw it up onto his shoulder and off to the bin lorry. If it was too heavy a mate would give him a hand to take it to the bin lorry.
